Anyway... we've come across some pretty amazing places that really felt like home. And some not so amazing places that just felt like a place to be in the interim. The Brampton house in England is still our absolute favorite and was the place that will always just feel the most "right", but this current place is pretty great! We got to pick paint colors before we moved in and I think not having white walls really helps this place feel like home. So... without further ado...
The house! We live in a compound in a stand alone villa. That means there are eight other villas enclosed in a wall and gated area. We've got a shared pool (two actually) and a common area thats bricked that Stella and her friends play on when its cooler.
So when you first walk through the door this is what you see... a non working fireplace right in the front, the water closet ahead (the office is to the left), the stairs, and the living space to the right.
The homeschool room/office
We need a slightly larger bookshelf and now that Ikea is finally open, we'll get one soon!
Looking back towards the door
The whole living room/dining room area is one big open space
This is looking into the kitchen... I really love the look through- it makes it feel like a part of the living space so I can have a conversation with everyone while I'm cooking dinner.
This is looking to the laundry...nook. Its definitely not a room...haha! Its tucked away under the stairs and teeny tiny. It is also stifling hot in there when the machines are running but I've found it makes a great proofing room for yeast dough to rise! The doorway to the kitchen is right before the steps leading down to the laundry on the right.

Looking out of the kitchen
The top of the stairs to the right (the master bedroom is to the left)
Stella's bathroom
Stella's room (which is a disaster, but cleaner than it was at least...)
She has a whole wall of built in wardrobes and they make great storage for games and toys (if they'd only get put up like they should...)
Directly across the hall from Stella is the guest room... this room up until this past weekend was like a giant storage closet for stuff we have no extra space for. We went through it and culled down and organized a little better. Its a work in progress.
Guest bedroom wall of wardrobes
The master... our room is huge! The bed is in a little recessed nook which is cool.
And we have enough space for my mat and some work out stuff
We have a built in wardrobes in this walk through to the bathroom
Master bath... with the square toilet (we also have a bidet but its not in the picture)
Overall we really like this house a lot. It feels like home. There are some weird quirks... like no bathroom storage, only four drawers in the kitchen, and the fact that theres no AC in the bathroom so it is boiling hot during the day. But we're making it work and we all like it MUCH more than the first place we were in, so thats a giant win.
