Lucky Number 13

On 27 August, Christopher and I celebrated 13 years of marriage! We had plans for an awesome date night at a Greek place and even a kiddo-free night since Stella had a sleepover planned. But, alas, life had other plans and a certain husband ended up with a stomach bug so a quiet night in with Talabat and a movie (and by movie I mean I watched a movie and he slept...). Its one of those things though... its right there in the vows- in sickness and in health. And sometimes life doesn't go as planned and you just have to roll with it. And there's no one else I'd rather roll with it with...

Luckily we still got to have that date night later in the week! We hired a babysitter, got all dolled up, and headed to a place called Attic. Its a greek restaurant in Adliya and its got rave reviews... for good reason!

Also, we were bad and forgot to have anyone take an actual picture of us, so selfie it is...

We started with cocktails... Christopher had Ouzo (gross!) and I had a delicious gin and passionfruit concoction with basil and lime!

Our appetizers were a peach and halloumi salad with a rose dressing (divine!) and flaming cheese! The cheese is Kefalotyri cheese with flaming ouzo and fig jam... it was delicious!

Our mains were tomato and eggplant pasta (Christopher) and vegetarian Moussaka (me)... both were good but my Moussaka wasn't anything to write home about.  Christophers dish, though simple, was delicious!

Dessert was Greek coffee for Christopher (of course) and homemade donuts soaked in honey with olive oil ice cream! The donuts were so good! Some of them had soaked in more honey and when you bit into it, it was just full of honey and flavor! The olive oil ice cream just tasted like vanilla... which was kind of disappointing... I love weird ice cream flavors!

Here's to thirteen years babe! To travel and adventure and to quiet nights and comfort.  Theres no one else I could possibly imagine doing life with! Here's to 100 more!

Also... here's to 17 years dating! On 10 September we celebrated the day Christopher got the gumption up to ask me to be his girlfriend! It was a normal day of work for him, but he did leave earlier than normal and we had a couch date... in our seventeen years together I've learned to make a pretty mean cheese plate....
