At the end of January my friend Lindsay asked if we wanted to go to brunch at this awesome placed called Cantina Kahlo and we said yes! Lindsay is the first friend I made here in Bahrain (we arrived within a few days of each other and met in the hotel lobby at bus drop off or pick up one and we clicked instantly) and with our schedules never meshing together we don't get to see each other as often as we'd like so it was wonderful to catch up!
It doesn't hurt that the weather cooperated and was absolutely gorgeous! Nothing like brunching outdoors in January!
Someone forgot his sunglasses and had to borrow mine...haha!
Lots of yoga happening in the Koenig house lately... its been five months of almost daily practice
Once your kid hits a certain age you realize that all the milestones are a lot more spread out. First word, first steps, first tooth, all those things and more happen in rapid succession it seems like every time you turn around your baby is doing something new. As they get older, they've done the things and lost the teeth and you realize that the milestones coming up are pretty far away. And then they surprise you...
This girl finally mastered the art of bubble gum bubble blowing and she could not be happier! Side note... it is SO hard to teach someone how to blow a bubble!
She jumped on FaceTime and showed everyone her new skill and our schedules and timezones finally somehow managed to match up with the Gray's and these girls got to chat with each other for the first time in ages! They were some happy girls!
We had a field trip to the Natures Market supermarket at the Avenues Mall with the homeschool group! We learned all about fresh and healthy food choices, organic foods, and what all the supermarket has to offer. It was a little chaotic, but fun, and a good chance to get out and learn!
We went bowling with some of the chiefs that Christopher works with and their families!
Every now and then I pull bowling skills out of my ass and put on a good show...I got a strike right off the bat and two spares before the lane malfunctioned and our game ended. Better to quit while I was ahead, I suppose.
Stella did a pretty good job and had a great time...
although she spent more of her time dancing than she did bowling, but she was happy!
Stella got a box from her Mimi and Grandpa and loved her silly glasses!
And we started work on shoe tying when Mimi sent tennis shoes with ties... living here she lives in slip on shoes and sandals so the need to know how to tie her shoes just isn't there... its probably past time for her to have mastered this skill...lol!
And we planned and prepped for our trip to Egypt!!! I keep accumulating travel and geography books for Stella... I'm loving it!
