Our first Iftar!

On the 9th we headed to the Bahrain Museum to show Mom and Dad all the awesome artifacts. It was cool to walk them through it after we'd already gone on a field trip and after we've been learning about Ancient History. Stella helped me talk them through some of the things on display and talked about some of the things she's been learning this year. Homeschooling for the win!

Mom loved all the pottery

After we got home from the museum we discovered why we've seen little handprints on that overhang outside our window...

The next night we headed to our favorite Japanese brunch spot, Bushido for our first Iftar!

Like I talked about on the Ramadan post, Iftar is the meal that breaks the fast during Ramadan. The restaurants and hotels here take advantage of Iftar and offer up huge buffets that are similar to the offerings of their brunches.

All the decor was different from their normal decor and the food was different as well... which was a little bit of a disappointment! During brunch there's a massive offering of sushi and we were all hoping for that but it was more cooked foods and a variety of desserts and only two or three mediocre sushi rolls.

We did try this delicious Ramadan juice called Qamar- Al Seen. Its apricot juice and orange blossom water and it was absolutely divine!
