And speaking of being sick constantly... on Mother's Day I woke up with a stye. It wasn't too horrible- it was just a little tender and you could barely see it. I was a giant idiot and wore makeup to our Iftar that night and it decided that it didn't like that, thank you very much.
Warm compress to the rescue... Stella said I looked like Nick Fury (and proceeding to rename me this for the entirety of the stye...which prompted pictures like this)
And this gem...
A couple of days after saying Goodbye to Mom and Dad we went to Stella's friend Addy's for her birthday party. It was a pool party (because what else do you do in this heat!?) and our little mermaid had a blast.
But the highlight of the day was after Lindsay lit the trick candles on Addy's birthday cupcake...
When she blew them out and they fired back up, they fired back with a vengeance. The girls jumped back away from them and it was so funny!
After the party wrapped up we headed over to their house for a little pampering and Stella had a sleepover.
Which meant date night for us!
We headed to Attic, one of our favorite spots on island, for some delicious Greek food and gorgeous views
We stayed out so much later than we usually do (yay for sleepovers) and had a blast just talking and soaking in the view. It was just what we needed to recharge a bit. Its hard sometimes when you're away from family or when your babysitters move away, to steal some time just the two of us so this was fantastic!
The next day we got Stella from Lindsay and she and I finished packing and headed out that night for a trip to the states. We had planned to head that way later in the summer to beat the heat but Christophers work schedule picked up like crazy and we figured it was a good excuse to head back a little early.
